Philip photographs and writes books: his last one, for Breedon Books, Exploring Durham History, (1998) became a bestseller. His new book, Exploring Northumberland History, has received excellent reviews and is illustrated with photographs from his private collection.

He was specially commissioned by Halsgrove Publishing to produce "A Portrait of Durham" and has just finished a new book, again for Halsgrove, entitled, "Moods of County Durham" which was published in September and is their 1000th book!

Philip is currently working on further titles, including a new lavishly illustrated work for Breedon Books - "The Border Reivers" - covering the 400 years of turmoil and terror at the hands of the notorious Riding families………

Philip Nixon established the business in 1976 and took his wife Val into partnership in 1982. Together they offer a comprehensive photographic service supported by a reputation of integrity and professionalism built up over the last 30 years. Fillinghams of Durham was incorporated into the business in March 2000.
